This morning's summary:
It seems that the consesus is that a reading plan helps to hold us accountable to read. Without a reading plan we tend to see our Bible reading become very inconsistent and often get ignored. We discussed some of the different options for reading plans. I encourage you to pick a plan and give it a try. WHEN we fall short, repent and pick up without necessarily trying to make up for a period you have missed.
We agreed that memorization as well as consistent reading tend to give us many of the advantages Piper talked about in his article. In addition, it helps make us able to teach, helps us to listen to God, and helps us to better understand both God and the world around us.
Thanks for your devotion. I am praying for each of you -- especially on Wednesday nights -- that you may be able to overcome whatever opposition the enemy may try to throw at you.
